From JT of Farmingdale, New York on 9/4/2016.
A unique wine. Almost comparable to a port/fortified wine, as it is rich and flavorful with a more than normal alcohol content. I would drink as an aperitif with more pronounced appetizers, or as a dessert wine, as it would counter balance chocolate nicely. I only recently had this wine with grilled (barbecued) meats, which had a heavy char. The wine worked perfectly as it held its own and counter balanced the barbecue char, and barbecue sauce nicely. Good stuff !
